Skills for School! (6-Week Package)

Service Description

This 6-week series begins with building connection and trust between your child and Ms. Chow, as well as discussing the area of concern (i.e., writing organization and stamina, or math conceptual understanding and confidence.) We will determine a realistic goal, learn how to use tools and strategies that will help your child meet their goal, reflect on progress, continually practice the strategies, and celebrate their growth. Our work together will include growth mindset mini-lessons and can include work time on the actual subject area of concern. Your child will receive practical tools such as graphic organizers that can help across subjects. If requested, we can also work on specific assignments like long-term writing projects or studying for an upcoming math assessment. We will tailor these sessions to your child's specific needs. Package includes a 45-50 minute session between coach and client, plus 10 minutes of coach-parent communication via brief written summary and/or optional post-session chat (in person or phone call), once per week, for 6 weeks. Scheduling and meeting location arranged on an individual basis. In-person meetings available within city limits of Seattle and Mercer Island. Virtual meetings are also an option.
